Dear Colleagues and partners,

For the past 50 years, AADFI has promoted socio-economic development across Africa, fostering collaboration among African Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) and development partners. AADFI’s impact is evident in its advocacy, policy advisory, research, professional skills development, institutional strengthening, and partnerships for member institutions, development partners, stakeholders, and the DFI community.

AADFI was pivotal in the resurgence of National DFIs in Africa during the late 1990s and early 2000s. Its Prudential Standards, Guidelines, and Rating System (PSGRS) for African Development Finance Institutions was instrumental in reforming DFIs to operate according to best practices.

In recent years, the Association has championed the drive for  African development finance institutions to embed holistic sustainability in their operations, aligning with our vision that only truly sustainable DFIs can contribute to effectively addressing Africa’s development challenges.

As the Association embarks on the next phase of its journey, it will remain committed to ensuring that African DFIs maintain their relevance and are united in pursuing a sustainable and greener future for Africa.
